We only spent one weekend in Conn. (I wish it were more) but what a weekend it was.  So much fun and I have to say it had more to do with the fellow rennies than anything else.  I met more folk on this trip than any other and actually got a chance to get to know some of them.  I'm so happy to be a part of this amazing group of people.  They are the salt of the earth.  Why can't the rest of the world catch a clue??

I also came to a realization with my own place in this world and using my true pagan name is what I needed.  I went through a whole ritual of figuring out what to call myself once I figured out that I was pagan.  Willow was the most fitting name. I have a whole history with this tree.  It connects me to my grandfather and my roots in Mass.  When I started selling Tarot bags it was only natural that I call the business Willow's Moon.  I have this very deep connection to the moon and it just fits.

So, from here on I will give my real name of Willow.

My name is Willow – AKA – Rick Carkin. I’m a singing member of Myschyffe Managed but also a fiber artist. Goddess has blessed me with the passion and skill to have many interests. I love to sing in groups. The joke in our troop is that I don’t have solo envy. You want to see my sweat bullets, give me a solo. But I can sing with a group in front of hundreds of people and not have a single nerve out of alignment. I have been playing with fiber my whole life. Only a fiber slut can understand the energy one gets from working with fabric, threads and yarns. You name it, I have probably made it. Of late, my passion rests with quilting and bag making or anything witchy. OH did I mention that I am also a Witch? Blessed Be!!!!!

 

Myschyffe Managed – How did it happen? This nutty little group of ours was formed many years ago in our Church. Yes, you heard that correctly, church. We all belong to the UU Church in Manchester, NH. Our fearless leader, Lord Fafnir and his intoxicating wife Gwyneth wanted to put on a play as a fund raiser. This play happened to be a musical so they rounded up some of the musical talent of our church. Three plays and 4 years later this group is still performing together. We were even starting to do special music in our church on special Sundays.

 

It just so happened that our leader and his wife were also Ren Rats and they invited a group of us from church to go to a Faire. The rest is history. We had a blast they had morphed a few more of us into Ren Rats. But this new group of Rats loved to sing. Not only could they sing but they could also read music (something very rare in the choral world) and we liked doing complicated music. What do you do with a talented group of Ren Rats that can sing complicated music? You sing madrigals. Myschyffe Managed was born.
